Sculptures
Phil Hayes is a Melbourne-based Australian artist whose practice spans over four decades, from galleries in Japan and the USA to 18 years designing for the global surf industry with Rip Curl and Quiksilver. This collection brings together two of his most tactile art forms: original sculptures and hand-painted surfboard works.
Phil's iconic dog motif, born in the late 1980s as social commentary on Australian suburbia, and his deep fascination with the thylacine as a symbol of loss and resilience run through every piece. Whether cast in three dimensions or painted across a surfboard's curves, these works carry the same bold pop sensibility and layered meaning that have made Phil one of Australia's most distinctive contemporary artists.
Each piece is an original. Limited in number, lasting in impact.
